This week hasn’t gone “as planned” (but when does it ever?). I’m stuck home with COVID, which has given me extra time to tend to laptop-required tasks from my bed. I think, maybe, because I can’t even leave my room, I had my eyes turned towards the whimsical this week. Everything on this edit transports me to a faraway place (far from my bed), and maybe that’s exactly what a lot of us need right now as the dog days of summer come to an end.
There are a few things on this edit that I have been verrrry into this year, namely: ruffles, plate walls, stripes and pasta (or anything Italian). I even got three different pastas tattooed on my ankle six months ago (will I regret that? I highly doubt it because I will never, ever tire of pasta). I’ve been especially crushing on plate walls. The thing I love about plate walls (aside from being a stellar way to add texture, interest, whimsy and pattern to your walls), is that when you find a set of plates that feel out-of-budget, you can buy just a single one to hang on the wall. I currently have TWO plates walls going, and I plan on continually adding to them as I find new pieces.
I’m also always on the lookout for aesthetic, yet functional, pieces to add to my kitchen (especially for my countertops and open shelf). This Verve juicer is not only useful, but pure eye candy. And that banana mug? I would not only smile every morning as I pour my coffee into it, I would also keep it proudly on display.
It’s hard to say what my favorite piece is on the edit this week, but that chair from Anthropologie might take the cake (is that the expression? I am so bad at expressions). I realllllly want to buy it for my bedroom and I’m not sure I can resist….
