THE HOLIDAY EDIT

Though I don’t begin decorating for Christmas until Thanksgiving weekend, I do get a head start on purchasing the pieces I will be decorating with in early November. Unlike my childhood days, when Christmas decor didn’t even hit the shelves until Thanksgiving, holiday decor is often sold out before Black Friday.

Of course, my favorite way to buy holiday decor is secondhand, through estate sales or the thrift store. But there are still plenty of heirloom pieces in my holiday decor that I purchase new each year. I compiled a list here that I will continue to add to throughout the season, with a focus on quality pieces. Almost no Target, no Walmart. Just quality. I truly believe in adding just a few quality pieces to your holiday collection every year. Things that are timeless and well-made to stand the test of time.

I have also tried to include smaller businesses on the list, but have also spent a great deal of time curating this selection with the aim of including pieces that are unusual and you likely won’t see everywhere. I also like to reimagine pieces that don’t scream, “CHRISTMAS!” to use for holiday decorating. There are lots of pieces included in this edit that can easily be repurposed throughout the year, too, but can make beautiful and unexpected holiday statements because of their color, finish, etc.

Everything can be shopped online (tap each picture for the link). Be sure to continue to visit this page to see additions as I find them in the wild. Happy Holiday Shopping!
